BBMP gets six months to solve garbage problem
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said the Bruhat
Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has been given six months time to
clear piled garbage in different parts of the city and identify
locations of garbage disposal.
Addressing
presspersons here, he said BBMP Commissioner M. Lakshminarayan had been
instructed to solve all problems related to garbage disposal in six
months. One month of this period was already over, he said.
A sum of Rs. 100 crore had been sanctioned to the BBMP to address the problem, he said.
Asked
about deaths of labourers in collapse of buildings, he said the BBMP
Commissioner has been instructed to take strict action against engineers
who ignore norms while clearing permission for construction of number
of floors.
