BBMP office has just 5% staff at 10am

The startling observations were made at BBMP’s offices in East zone, when Lakshmikanth Reddy, chairman of personnel and administrative reforms committee, made a surprise inspection on Thursday.
The excuses by the latecoming officials included traffic jams and lack of buses. Shankarappa, joint director (statistics), was reportedly not found in his seat and there were complaints about his indifference to public when they came in for the birth/death certificates.
Similar complaints had come up during deputy mayor N Dayanand’s earlier inspection to the same offices. The chairman said he would take up the issue seriously with the commissioner. “Strict action should be taken against such irregularities,” he said.
