BBMP officials told to take steps to prevent diseases
District In-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday met BBMP
Commissioner Laxminarayana, Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy, District Health
Officer Nagaraj and other DHOs and told them to take precautionary
measures against diseases. He asked them to focus on vector-borne
disease like dengue.
Earlier, Health Minister U T Khader had also
expressed his concern in this regard. The Palike officials were told to
take up precautionary measures like spraying pesticides and cleaning
areas to contain dengue by involving link workers and nursing college
students in each ward. The Palike has so far covered 2,24,029 houses
and found 29,276 larvae at houses in eight zones.
