BBMP: The pendulum effect
Expresso had published a report accentuating on the dismal conditions of the road infront of Adarsha theater in Ulsoor on September 6. The BBMP sent their response to the same and it was filed on October 12 .
Even though the Palike took action initially and started asphalting the road by September 27, the road had returned to its ‘earlier glory’ on October 12. The poor quality of materials used had resulted in the road caving in after a few spells of rainfall. But the BBMP has sent yet another reply citing reasons for the dismal conditions of this road. The Palike in its response has said that the road was dug up by the BWSSB to relay a pipe line.
They have also stated that they informed the BWSSB to complete their work at the earliest so that the BBMP can restore the road. They have said that they had instructed the Assistant Executive Engineer (Major Roads-Mahadevapura) to fill up the pot holes with wet mix. But the same was dug open by the BWSSB. But the second time, the wet mix deteriorated due to heavy rainfall in the city.
