Bill to regularise illegal constructions
Special Correspondent
The Legislative Assembly on Wednesday passed the
Karnataka Town and Country Planning and Certain Other Laws (Amendment)
Bill 2013, popularly known as the ‘Akrama-Sakrama’ scheme, to replace
the ordinance promulgated on October 19, 2013.
The
Bill empowers the State government to prescribe the last date for
receiving applications for regularisation of unauthorised constructions
in urban areas. The government aims to regularise constructions that
have violated rules pertaining to the setback area and floor area ratio.
