Digital birth certificates will be sent directly to the houses of the
needy through courier service free of cost from June 10. Mayor M Majid
Hussain will launch the programme on Monday.
Announcing this to
newsmen here on Thursday, the Mayor said that the birth certificates
would also provide the vaccination schedule for the infants so that the
parents could take them to the vaccination centres at the appointed
time.
The vaccination centres would also alert the parents about the vaccination a day before on the mobile phone.
He
said that the new scheme would help the needy as they were facing a lot
of problems in securing the birth certificates from the GHMC Circle/
Ward Offices, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, GHMC commissioner MT
Krishna Babu stated that this was the first time that such an innovative
programme was being taken up by the GHMC and added that it was part of
the GHMC’s moves to provide better services to the citizens.
The
commissioner said that the GHMC would send death certificates also
through courier service free of cost soon. The certificates would also
carry condolence messages. The procedures for the same were being
streamlined now, he added.
He said that the GHMC was striving hard to make Hyderabad city a healthier and greener city.
