B’lore Urban officers told to revise voters’ list

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha
polls, Bangalore Urban Deputy Commissioner G C Prakash held a series of
meetings with the district officials and directed them to ensure a
foolproof arrangement, including an error-free electoral roll.
Prakash
visited Mahadevapura, KR Puram, Byatarayanapura and Yeshwantpur
Assembly constituency offices and directed the officials to revise the
existing voters’ list. He issued show cause notices to two shirestedars
for the delay in bringing out draft voters’ list and initiated
disciplinary action against the election staff for the delay in
following his instructions.
The deputy commissioner directed them
to form teams at ward and panchayat-level and appoint supervisors. He
also instructed them to bring out a flawless list of voters within the
stipulated time for the seven Assembly constituencies under the
juristiction of Bangalore Urban district.
