BMC asks officials to strictly follow model code of conduct
Municipal Corporation (BMC) is making special arrangements for the
voters. The BMC Commissioner Vishesh Gadpale asked the officials to make
proper arrangements by strictly following the model code of conduct.
While addressing a meeting of BMC officials here on Monday at Acharya
Narendradev Library, Gadpale gave certain instructions to the officials.
He said that to provide proper facilities to the voters’ different
teams have been formed in all the 14 zones of the city. All the team
members would work on the instructions of their respective zonal
officer. Moreover 14 officials have been given duties for different 14
zones.
Implementing the instructions given by district election officer, a
control room would be established at Mata Mandir that would be divided
into three sections and would remain open for 24 hours. Notably, the BMC
Commissioner Vishesh Gadpale has prohibited any casual leave for the
officials concerned and BMC employees till the elections.
During the meeting, BMC Additional Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, BMC
senior officials, zonal officials, engineers, engineers (water works),
sanitary in-charges, ward in-charges and other employees were present.
The BMC Commissioner Vishesh Gadpale asked the officials concerned to
make provisions for proper drinking water, sitting arrangements, proper
lighting system and facilitate a ramp for the handicapped. The officials
must also maintain the cleanliness facilities at the booths.
To make proper drinking water facilities at the voting booths, Gadpale
asked the officials to keep water filters and glasses for the citizens.
He also asked the officials to distribute the required material for
voting on the spot and make proper and separate provision for it. He
also said that if any complain or any problem is conveyed by any
citizens, the officials concerned must resolve the problem immediately.
He asked the officials concerned to update the name list, phone numbers
and other details of the team members at the control room.
Gadpale further instructed the officials to provide the information of
required hoardings, flex their size and number to the control room.
Moreover, he asked the officials to remove the hoardings and flex from
the Governmental properties.
He also asked the officials to remain updated 24 hours through their
e-mails and on mobile phones and work according to the instructions
given.
