BMC polls likely in early Jan
The State Election Commission (SEC) is planning to hold
elections to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in the first
week of January 2014, sources said.

Meanwhile, the State Housing & Urban Development Department has on
Tuesday issued a notification for the BMC polls. And the SEC is expected
to declare poll dates soon. The elections to the BMC and the Cuttack
Municipal Corporation (CMC) will be held according to the 2011 census.
It is yet to be ascertained when the CMC polls will be held.
