Bonanza for Punjab civic body officials
The Punjab Government on Sunday substantially enhanced
the allowances and honorarium of officials of various urban civic
bodies. They would be eligible for these with effect from October 1, an
official release said here.
The honorarium of mayors
has been enhanced from Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000 per month. For senior
deputy mayors it has been raised from Rs.12,000 to Rs.16,000 per month
and for deputy mayors from Rs.10,000 to 12,500.
The telephone allowance of senior deputy mayors and deputy mayors has been enhanced from Rs.1,200 to Rs.2,000 per month.
Mayors
would also be entitled for constituency allowance of Rs.10,000 per
month, besides a meeting allowance of Rs.500 per day subject to maximum
of Rs.5,000 per month.
The constituency allowance of senior deputy mayors and deputy mayors has been enhanced from Rs.9,000 to Rs.10,000 per month.
Similarly,
the allowances of senior deputy mayors and deputy mayors has been
enhanced from Rs.300 from Rs.500 per day subject to a maximum limit of
Rs.5,000 per month.
The daily allowance of municipal
councillors has also been enhanced from Rs.300 to Rs.500 per day subject
to maximum of Rs.5,000.
The constituency allowance of elected councillors has been enhanced from Rs.7,000 to Rs.10,000 per month. – PTI
