BWSSB cracks down on defaulters
BANGALORE: Better late than never. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) on Wednesday initiated criminal proceedings against 15 consumers for having unauthorized water and sanitary connections and for tampering with water meters.
A complaint has been filed under section 200 of the criminal procedure code. If proven guilty, the offenders face three-year imprisonment and penalty, as prescribed under section 108 (A) for water theft, and under Sections 75 and 85 of the revised BWSSB act.
