BWSSB plans more water connections
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB)
has planned to increase water connections to 8.6 lakh in the next three
months under Phase II of the Cauvery Stage IV project.According
to a release, Gaurav Gupta, BWSSB chairperson, said that the
maintenance costs would increase, and it was necessary to increase water
connections and track illegal connections.
Among 27 sub-divisions of the BWSSB, 10 are on outskirts of the city.They are supposed to achieve a target of 1,000 new connections per week.A meeting has been called on Monday on achieving the targets.
