BWSSB pulls the plug on illegal connections

Continuing the disconnection drive, officials from
Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) on Monday unplugged an
illegal water connection taken by residents of Yadalamma Nagar here.
The residents had drawn the connection from the main pipeline supplying
water from Uttarahalli Circle to Maruti Layout near Subrahmanyapura Main
Road.
The disconnection was made under the
supervision of South Division Executive Engineer Gururaj Assistant
Executive Engineer Malleshappa. During the drive held on April 5, 6 and
8, 68 connections were disconnected, notices were issued in 49 cases and
Rs. 4,31,263 in dues recovered. During this period, the drive was
conducted in R.T. Nagar Service Station area of Northeast 3 Subdivision,
G.M. Palya, Balaji Layout of Southeast 2 Subdivision; HRBR 1st Block of
East 1 Subdivision; Doopanahalli, HAL 3{+r}{+d}Stage of South-East-2
sub-division; Ulsoor , M.V. Garden, Murugeshpalya of Southeast1
Subdivision; Frazer Town of Central 1 Subdivision; Yelahanka
4{+t}{+h}Phase of North 2 Subdivision; Vivekanagar, M.G. Road, and
Honnarpet of Southeast 1 Subdivision; G.M. Palya, Kaggadasapura of
Southeast 2 Subdivision; Kengunte of West 2 Subdivision; Bhovi Colony of
Northwest 2 Subdivision; J.P. Nagar of South 2 Subdivision; Sanjeevini
Nagar, Peenya of Northwest 3 Subdivision; Pariyappana Palya, Dubasipalya
of West 3 Subdivision; BTM Layout of South 3 Subdivision and
Uttarahalli of South 1 Subdivision.
