Unable to meet the numerous demands for water supply in the
newly-added areas, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has
started selling SAJALA applications (the prescribed simplified format
for getting a new water connection) in these areas. As of March 31,
BWSSB, which had issued 1,11,325 applications, received 57,715
applications seeking water connections.
Disconnection drive
BWSSB
disconnected 142 illegal connections recently, issued notices to 77
people and recovered `3.89 lakh dues during a disconnection drive in MEI
Layout, Kaggadasapura, Nagavarapalya, S D Palya, Lakshmipura, Indira
Nagar I Stage, HAL II Stage, Sanjaynagar, BEL Road, Cole’s Park,
Shivajinagar, Kamalanagar, Kengunte, Vijaya Bank Layout, Kathriguppe and
Devagiri.
