Call to expedite water supply project work
Residents of various hamlets under Corporation Ward 3
were getting annoyed over the delay in commencement of Rs. 3.25 crore
drinking water supply enhancement project work, despite the completion
of tendering procedures.
Accompanied by ward
councillor K. Marappan, the residents met the Corporation officials on
Wednesday to raise the said issue along with a few other grievances
connected to inadequate drainage and pathetic condition of public toilet
complex in the area.
Mr. Marappan later told reporters that the officials had assured to take steps to proceed with the water supply project.
According
to the residents, the public toilet complex situated at Adi Dravidar
Colony in Chettipalayam has been lying in a pathetic condition. “Due to
this, people defecate in the open,” they told the Corporation officials.
Another demand was the need to augment the supply of water through the second drinking water scheme.
