CDIA, GVMC discuss areas of cooperation

VISAKHAPATNAM: Senior Programme Specialist of Cities Development
Initiative for Asia (CDIA), the Philippines, Balakrishnan Elangovan, on
Monday met Municipal Commissioner V.N. Vishnu and held discussions for
identifying areas of support after receiving directions from the State
government to commence the process.
CDIA is a global organisation jointly sponsored by the Asian
Development Bank, Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency
and German Technical Co-operation (gtz). It plans to extend technical
and financial support to high priority infrastructure projects taken up
by the GVMC. Mr. Vishnu identified BRTS, water supply, solid waste
management, revision of city development plan, as priority sectors.
Earlier, the CDIA representative held discussions with Additional Commissioner (Projects) K. Ramesh and other officials.
