Centre sanctions Rs 195 cr for Bhopal’s development
and Development Minister Babulal Gaur called on Union Urban Development
Minister Kamalnath in New Delhi on Thursday regarding pending schemes
of the State.
Following discussions,
Kamalnath sanctioned Rs 100 crore under JNNURM for development of small
and medium towns of the State. Kamalnath also sanctioned Rs 195 crore
for development of Bhopal city.
During the meeting, Mayor Krishna Gaur also urged to provide funds for
Municipal Corporation Building. Kamalnath sanctioned Rs 15 crore for the
building.
UAD Minister Gaur informed the Union Minister that the State Government
has sent 74 proposals worth Rs 1334 crore for infrastructure
development works in small and medium towns to the Union Government.
Gaur informed that development works have been started with sanctioned
funds. It was informed during the meeting that JNNURM’s state-level
empowered committee has sent Rs 325 crore proposals to the Union
Government for Bhopal city’s development.
Following discussions, Kamalnath sanctioned Rs 195 crore for city’s
development. Gaur also held discussions with proposals pertaining to
Indore and Jabalpur. The Union Minister informed that funds for Jabalpur
and Indore will be released shortly. Gaur informed about preparations
for Simhastha-2016. Gaur informed that the State Government has chalked
out a Rs 1423.56 crore action plan. Gaur urged him to sanction grant for
Simhastha like Allahabad Kumbh Mela.
The Minister also met Director of Bharat Heavy Industries Limited R
Krishnan. Gaur drew his attention towards problems of people living in
BHEL area.
Gaur informed that administration of BHEL in Bhopal is not ensuring
action for proper solution to problems of people and traders in the
areas under its jurisdiction. Krishnan assured early action on the
problems enumerated by Gaur.
