The district medical team joined hands with the City Corporation to
carry out fogging in the Corporation limits to ward off mosquitoes on
Sunday. Out of the 32 fogging machines deployed, 20 belonged to the City
Corporation and the rest to the Health Department. The drive, that
began at 7.30 am, was carried out based on a route map prepared by the
Health Department.
“This is a special campaign we have started in
the city on identifying more dengue cases in the Corporation area.
Health Department alone does not have sufficient hands to carry out the
drive and hence Corporation workers were also roped in,” said a senior
health official.
As it is difficult to carry out fogging when it
rains, Sunday was chosen for the programme. The Dry Day observance was
also held alongside.
Other than the Corporation limits, two areas in the periphery were also included in the programme, said the official.
