Civic body to discuss Taj Mansingh issue
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will soon convene
a special meeting to discuss the plight of the Taj Mansingh Hotel here.
The decision comes a day after the Delhi High Court sought a response
from the Council on a suit filed by Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company
(IHC) which runs the hotel.
“The Council discussed
the matter in its meeting on Wednesday and it was decided that first the
Court’s notice will be studied and then a special meeting will be
convened [to discuss the response],” said NDMC spokesperson Arun Kumar
Mishra.
Tata Group’s plea had sough to restrain the
land-owning agency from auctioning the property on which Taj Mansingh
Hotel is located.
