Civic chief’s offer to builders
Speedy issuance of OCs if the mandatory NOCs are in order
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Monday said that
efforts were on to ensure speedy issuance of occupancy certificates
(OCs) provided the five mandatory certificates for the purpose: Fire
NOC, parking, total building construction, setbacks and abutting road
width – are in order.
After a meeting with builders,
architects and engineers on the civic body’s panel, he said the property
tax would be integrated with the issuance of occupancy certificates.
Water
and electricity connection was not being insisted for issuing OCs
though it was in the Act, he said and suggested completing the laying of
electrical lines and water lines before submitting application for OC.
The builders were also asked to provide one parking space for each flat in buildings they construct.
He
asked the Town Planning officials to coordinate with the Registration
Department and finalise the issue pertaining to mortgage undertaking and
study the provisions of submission of gift deed in place of
undertaking.
D. Ronald Rose, Additional Commissioner
(Planning), G.V. Raghu, Chief City Planner, and other senior officials
were also present during the meeting, according to a press release.
CSC services
Birth
and death certificates would be issued at the GHMC Citizen Service
Centre (CSC) as well as through Mee Seva/e-Seva at a cost of Rs. 20 per
certificate, Mr. Somesh Kumar said.
Responding to
complaints that the CSCs in Circle 8 and 10 were not issuing these
certificates and instead asking the applicants to approach Mee
Seva/e-Seva, he said instructions were issued to the officials on
ensuring that the certificates were issued at the CSCs too.
“Citizens
can use either of these services for the certificates as per their
convenience,” he said. Even the Mee Seva/e-Seva Centres too have been
asked to charge Rs. 20 for the certificate, same as the GHMC service
centre.
“There was some confusion initially and there
were reports on an amount of Rs. 45 being charged for the certificate.
But the issue has been sorted out and necessary instructions issued,” an
official said.
