‘Cleanliness crucial to prevent dengue’
Dengue prevention is of paramount importance and
people’s involvement will consolidate the efforts of the government
agencies in Karur, District Collector S. Jayandhi said here on
Wednesday.
Speaking after flagging off a dengue
prevention awareness rally by girl students, Ms. Jayandhi said that
public must ensure that garbage did not gather in residential localities
as that would cause dengue-spreading mosquitoes to proliferate. Listing
the dos and don’ts of dengue prevention, Ms. Jayandhi wanted everybody
to exercise vigil against dengue through proper hygiene and cleanliness.
Stating that the local bodies, including the Karur and Kulithalai
municipalities, town panchayats, and village panchayats were involved in
containing the menace, the Collector pointed out that the dengue
prevention efforts would continue until December.
