CMC president given warm farewell

SHIMOGA: N.J. Rajasekhar, who will soon complete his 15-month term as president of the City Municipal Council, was given a warm farewell at the monthly meeting of the council here on Wednesday.
Several councillors who spoke on the occasion recalled the good work done by Mr. Rajasekhar during his short term.
Initiative
They lauded his bold initiative in demolishing illegal structures constructed on municipal land and restoring the valuable property to the municipality.
They referred particularly to the demolition of houses illegally constructed near the Shivalaya in Vinobanagar and near Vinayak Theatre and lauded his initiative in constructing shopping complexes at Ameer Ahmed Circle and Nehru Road. Replying to the felicitation, Mr. Rajasekhar recalled the cooperation of the councillors and the administration in discharging his duties effectively.
He wished that whoever came to the post next would receive the same cooperation from all of them.
