‘Co-operation between Mayor, Govt needed for Gwalior’s growth’PNS | Gwalior
A strong co-operation between the Mayor and the State Government is crucial for the accelerated development of the city, said Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur here on Thursday.
The Minister was speaking at a function marking the inauguration of construction works under rainwater outlet scheme near the Yadav Dharma Kanta on the Agra-Mumbai highway.
The programme was presided over by former MP and vice-chairman of the 20-point implementation committee Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya.
Gaur said the Government is committed to the development of the city with the cooperation of ADB.
In order to translate the development goals into reality, various multi-crore schemes are being launched in the city, he said, adding that contractors have been cautioned to complete development work within the stipulated timeframe and in adherence with the quality standards set by the civic agencies.
Mayor Sameeksha Gupta, SADA chairman Jai Singh Kushawah, Trade Fair Authority chairman Anurag Bansal, Municipal Corporation chairman Vijendra Singh Jadon and district BJP president Ved Prakash Sharma were present on the occasion.
Gaur also performed the bhoomi pujan for the construction of the Chandra Nagar road and also addressed a meeting of peoples’ representatives at Bal Bhavan.
Earlier, a delegation of Congress corporators, led by Shammi Sharma, called on the Minister at the airport and sought his intervention to ensure the construction of the crematorium road. Gaur assured the delegates that he would look into the matter.
