Committee inspects Corporation Zoo at VOC Park

Coimbatore: The Corporation Committee of elected members on
Education, Parks and Play Grounds inspected the Corporation Zoo at VOC
Park Grounds on Wednesday.
The committee led by its Chairman R. Kalyanasundaram went round the zoological park.
The inspection comes in the wake of the reports about damage to the
civil structures and hardship faced by the animals kept there especially
from crows and diseases.
The Corporation is already on the job of getting the zoo shifted to a
spacious place and is already on the process of finalising the place
and intimating the Central Zoological Authority which has served a
notice on the Corporation. However, to ensure the safety and comfort of
the animals kept there, the committee inspected the park and identified
areas that required immediate attention.
