Concept plan to ease traffic congestion in city
HYDERABAD: The GHMC, in association with other civic and government departments, has begun to prepare a concept paper towards transforming the traffic and transport scenario of the capital. Trigger for the plan is the World Bank giving a preliminary consent towards funding such a comprehensive project to the tune of a whopping Rs.1,000 crore.
The project funds will be routed through the Central Government under the JNNURM, official sources said on Monday. Varied agencies like the HMDA, Traffic Police, Water Board and others are to participate in preparing the concept paper.
It will be finalised soon and is to be shown as a presentation to WB officials expected to visit the city next month.
