‘Core PDS’ being extended to eight additional municipal regions
regions to its ‘Core PDS’ service under its Public Distribution System
(PDS) in the State from the first week of September.
This was informed at a training programme held for district-level
officers of Food Department besides officials of National Information
Science centres and Food Controllers, an official release issued here
stated.
Under the ‘Core PDS’ system a ration card holder is able to pick up
food grains from the shop of his or her choice. The ‘Core PDS’ system
would be operational in two shops each of Bhilai, Dhamtari, Jagdalpur,
Bilaspur, Raigarh, Korba, Ambikapur and Chirimiri municipal regions from
the first week of September.
Thereafter, from the month of October the ‘Core PDS System’ would be
operational from all municipal regions in the aforesaid districts by the
name of PDS-Meri Marzi (PDS My Choice).
