Corporation gets two more jetting machine vehicles
Vehicles purchased at Rs.89 lakh to clear blocks in underground sewage lines
City Corporation has added two more jetting machine
vehicles to clear the blocks in the underground sewage lines. Sanctioned
under the Part II scheme, the vehicles with high pressure
suction-cum-jetting machines were purchased at a total expenditure of
Rs.89 lakh.
The machinery would be utilised for the Srirangam and Ponmalai zone.
Till now, there were only two such vehicles used at the four zones of Ariyamangalam, Ko.Abhishekapuram, Srirangam and Ponmalai.
A. Jaya, Mayor, handed over the model keys of the vehicles to the corporation drivers.
She
said that the additional vehicles would ensure expeditious and more
responsive programmes for clearing the blocks in the underground sewage
lines.
She also flagged off the vehicles. M. Latha
and N. Manoharan, both zonal presidents of Srirangam and Ponmalai; S.
Raja Mohamed, city engineer, and S. Arunachalam, executive engineer,
were present on the occasion.
