Corporation plans free medical camp
Will take out awareness rallies in Tirunelveli
The Corporation has planned to conduct special medical
camps and awareness rallies in all four zones of the urban local body
with the objective of preventing the outbreak of any waterborne,
vector-borne or contagious disease.
An official
statement said the first medical camp and awareness rally will be
conducted at Corporation Primary School at Aaminpuram in Melapalayam on
Tuesday (November 12) by a four-member medical team and two siddha
practitioners. ‘Nilavembu’ concoction will be distributed to the
participants.
Mayor Vijila Sathyananth will flag off the awareness rally by schoolchildren around 9.30 a.m.
The
participants will distribute pamphlets explaining the methods of
containing the outbreak of waterborne, vector-borne or contagious
disease during monsoon.
Members of self-help groups will be trained in preventing and containing these dreaded diseases.
“We’ve planned to conduct eight medical camps within the Corporation area,” said Ms. Vijila.
