Corporation promises to repair streetlights
Affidavit filed in response to a directive of the High Court.
Kochi: The Kochi Corporation on Wednesday informed a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court that the process of restoring the streetlights on the city roads was under way.
In an affidavit filed in response to a directive of the Bench, the Corporation Secretary said that Rs.9 lakh had been estimated for road marking and providing sign boards on roads.
Tenders had been floated in this regard. The final decision would be taken as soon as possible.
The corporation said that it had reminded the firm which undertook to repair the streetlights to complete its job immediately.
The affidavit was filed in response to a public interest writ petition filed by Anitha Mathai Muthirenthy seeking a directive for providing streetlights and marking zebra crossings on the city roads.
