The Kochi Corporation Health Squad conducted a a surprise check on 13 hotels in the city on Thursday.
Two
hotels at Pachalam and Vaduthala were issued notice while the rest of
the hotel owners were given instructions to upgrade steps to maintain
hygiene at their hotels.
The squad, led by Health Inspector B Sasikumar, conducted the raid at Pachalam, Vaduthala, Cemetiri mukku and SRM Road.

Corporation Health Standing Committee chairman T K Ashraf said notices
were issued to Hotel Vaishali at Pachalam and Hepsiba Restaurant at
Vaduthala.
“We have told the owners of Hotel Vaishali and Hepsiba
Restaurant that they would be heavily penalised if immediate measures
are not taken to ensure hygiene.
Hotel Kaira at Chittoor road,
Hotel Matha at Cemiterimukku, Krishna Nanda stores at Cemiteri Mukku,
Muthu Tea Stall at Cemiterimukku, Lourde Hospital canteen at Pachalam,
Murali tea stall at Pachalam, Kamal tea stall at Pachalam and Sanilal
tea stall at Pachalam, Dhanya Tea stall at Pachalam and Jalaja Foods at
SRM Road have been asked to upgrade the quality in their hygiene,”
Ashraf added.
Strict action will be taken against those who don’t
heed to the notice, the Health Standing Committee warned. Ashraf added
that raids will continue in the following days.
Health Inspectors V K Dinesh, A P Latheef, Junior Health Inspectors John Devasia took part in the raid.
