Corporation to conduct career and loan mela

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Corporation will conduct on May 9 a career guidance programme and education loan mela, “Thisai 10”.
The objective of the event is to create awareness among students and their parents on the emerging educational and employment opportunities, a press release from the civic body said on Wednesday.
The Corporation said the programme would be held from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. at the Corporation Kalaiarangam at R.S. Puram.
Around 30 colleges from various streams such as engineering, arts and science, nursing, paramedical science had been invited to participate in the event.
Animation and computer education institutes would also interact with the students.
The participating institutions would provide an overview about the various courses, scholarship and placement opportunities.
Some animation institutes had offered to provide free training to students who were moving into Plus-Two and or had completed the exams.
A stall on personality development, leadership qualities and creativity would be put up at the auditorium.
Various banks had been requested to participate in the programme and guide the students on availing themselves of educational loans for higher studies.
Professionals in the fields that would be represented at the mela would address students and parents.
