Following a resolution passed by the Chennai Corporation to provide
coaching classes for competitive exams in the last council meeting,
applications have now been invited from interested candidates. The
Corporation, in its budget report, said that the coaching will be
provided for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Tamil Nadu Public
Service Commission (TNPSC), Chartered Accountant (CA), Institue of Cost
and Works Accounts (ICWA), Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) and Bachelor of
Engineering (BE)  entrance exams, among others.

“Earlier, it was
reported that only candidates who are residing in the Corporation limits
are eligible for the coaching. But now, we have decided to provide
coaching to candidates from other parts of the State too,” said one of
the Corporation officials. He added that the classes will be held during
weekends and after school hours at the Corporation schools that have
been chosen as coaching centres.

“All the necessary learning
materials will be provided for the candidates free of cost. The classes
will be handled separately for men and women at different hours,” the
official said. Candidates can download the application forms from
www.chennaicorporation.gov.in. The applications should be sent on or
before September 10 by email or by post to Mayor Office, Rippon
Building, Corporation of Chennai, Chennai-3.
