Corporation to send messages on plan approval
In an effort aimed at bringing in transparency in
building plan approval and quick disposal of applications, Mayor P.
Rajkumar on Monday inaugurated a system wherein the Coimbatore
Corporation would send short service messages to the applicants
informing them of approval of applications.
According to Mr. Rajkumar, he gave away the plan approval documents to 93 persons on Monday. This was only a beginning.
From
now on, every week, the Corporation would send out messages confirming
the approval of applications and the date of issue of the same to the
applicants, who could then visit the Corporation main office for
collecting the same.
He said this initiative was for plans for buildings measuring less than 4,000 sq.ft.
A
senior official said that the Corporation could have the plan
disbursement event every Tuesday, prior to the weekly grievance meeting.
Earlier
in the day, the Mayor oversaw the Corporation releasing fingerlings
into freshwater containers in Ward 97 to control mosquito breeding.
Deputy Commissioner P. Gandhimathi said that the fingerlings would feed
on mosquito larvae and that would control the breeding.
The civic body had bought the fingerlings from the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation.
The
Corporation officials also carried out cleaning operations in schools
and repair of damaged roads in various parts of the city.
