‘DDA building shopping centres in Dwarka’
After the question of shopping and community amenities
made available to people living in Dwarka came up in the Lok Sabha this
Budget Session, the Delhi Development Authority has stated that it was
constructing 63 convenient shopping centres, 34 local shopping centres
and 10 community centres in the sub-city.
The DDA
said that only 10 convenient shopping centres and two local shopping
centres were already developed. The land and housing agency said that
mixed land use markets were already developed in Dwarka Sectors – 4, 5,
6, 10, 11 and 12 including a service centre in Sector 20.
Apart
from this, the DDA said a shopping complex has started functioning in a
community centre in Sector 17. It declared that Rs.2.5 crore have been
allocated for commercial shopping centres in 2009-10, Rs.1.52 crore in
2010-11, Rs.1.1 crore in 2011-12, and Rs.90 lakh in 2012-13.
