‘Do not disturb between 10:30 am and 3pm’
The BBMP has issued a circular barring the public, private organisations, Right to Information (RTI) applicants and even the media from meeting officials between 10.30 am and 3 pm on working days.
BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah later, however, said the media, MLAs, MLCs and corporators would not fall under the same category.
Speaking to mediapersons in the Palike on Wednesday, he said there was some miscommunication that led to the media being included in the circular that was meant to bar outsiders during those hours.
Siddaiah said the move was to ensure that officials get more time to work to better serve the people.
He said this would also help in the movement of files regarding issues and avoid delays.
He said people could meet officials between 3pm and 6pm adding that the Palike existed to serve the public and “they should be given more time to do so efficiently”.
