Door-to-door campaign to destroy mosquito larvae

Municipal authorities conducted door-to-door campaign in
several parts of Pudukottai town on Friday for ascertaining the level
of mosquito menace and destroy mosquito larvae breeding in stagnant
water in waste plastics and coconut shells.
They
visited Usilamkulam and Gandhi Nagar areas and sensitised residents on
preventive measures and the need to destroy larva at source.
The
municipal authorities sprayed chemicals on water stored by residents in
containers to check the growth of larva. Erratic supply of drinking
water has forced residents to store water for days.
Led
by S.A.S. Sait, Municipal Chairman (in-charge), they advised people to
join the fight against dengue . The chairman inspected the fogging
operations taken up in the areas.
