Drive against unauthorised layouts

The Bellary Urban Development Authority (BUDA) on
Tuesday launched a drive against unauthorised layouts in the city. A
team of officials, led by BUDA Commissioner Nafisa Khazi, removed
electrical poles, site marking stones and destroyed a concrete drain
that had come up in a sprawling land on Guggarahatti-Honnali road.
Speaking to
The Hindu,
Ms. Khazi said that the layout had been developed without permission
from the BUDA and violated all norms. The BUDA took action following the
complaint received from the Electrical Contractors’ Association.
Ms. Khazi said that a drive would be conducted on Belagal road too.
