Elections to standing committees
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The election of the standing committee members of local bodies will be held on November 18 and 19.
It will be held in three-tier panchayats and municipalities at 11 a.m. on November 18 and the next day at 11 a.m. in city Corporations. The returning officers of the president election have been asked to issue the notice for this election also. The gram and block panchayats will have four standing committees, district panchayats five, municipalities six and Corporations eight.
The government has already issued orders regarding the number of members in each local body. — Special Correspondent.
