Encroached raja kaluve recovered
A two-and-half acres of government land covering raja
kaluve (storm-water drain) which had been encroached by a gated
community was recovered by officials from the Bangalore Deputy
Commissioner’s (Urban) office on Monday.
A team led
by Deputy Commissioner G.C. Prakash went to Epsilon Villas in Yamalur on
old airport road and recovered the land, worth Rs. 25 crore.
According
to the officials, the community had encroached the land to build a
private road to connect the villas to the main road and a compound was
built around the land.
With the help of 10 earthmovers officials managed to demolish the structures.
“We
have issued a notice to the company seeking explanationand necessary
action will be taken based on their response,” Mr. Prakash told
