Encroachments in parking areas to be cleared in April
Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner K.V. Trilokchandra has
said the corporation will conduct a drive in April to clear
encroachments in parking areas.
Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr.
Trilokchandra said that initially the corporation would focus on the
central business district.+
He said the corporation had a list of 408 commercial buildings that had violated building bylaws.
The list included buildings not having building permission and completion certificates.
“Subsequently we asked the officials to identify
buildings in the central business district that had violated building
bylaws, including not maintaining parking areas,” he said.
He said that 45 buildings in the central business
district had violated building bylaws and had encroached upon parking
areas. Residents were put to hardship because of this, he said.
“At present, we are tied up with other work, including
Census work. We will begin the process of clearing encroachments in the
first week of April,” he said.
