Experts invited to Corporation working groups

The process is aimed at reconstituting the various working groups, by including new members. The working groups will suggest development projects in various sectors that come under the People’s Plan.

T J Vinod, chairman, development standing committee, presided over the meeting. The professional members of the working groups in 18 sectors of the People’s Plan under the Eleventh Five Year Plan are to be reconstituted.

The process of reorganising various working groups will be completed by December 1. Retired officers, residential association members, members of voluntary organisations and social workers are encouraged to volunteer as professional members.

Vinod said professionals or experts in various fields interested in joining the working groups can contact the People’s Plan wing of the Corporation.

Though the Corporation had publicised the news of the meeting through the media, there was only a lukewarm response and only a few members of the public turned up for the meeting.

However, the members of major residents associations in the city like District Residents Associations Apex Council (EDRAAC) and the Residents Apex Council of Ernakulam (Race) came forward to join the various working groups.
