Fees in VMCs gyms, stadiums, pools increased
The general body and the standing committee of the
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) at their meeting on Thursday
hiked the fees for various facilities and services it was offering to
citizens.
The fees for the use of facilities at
various stadiums, gymnasiums and swimming pools maintained by the VMC
have been enhanced by about 100 per cent after a gap of 16 years.
The
monthly fee of gyms that were charging Rs.50 and Rs.100 for children
and adults respectively has been enhanced to Rs.100 and Rs.200.
Similarly, the fee for facilities in MBA Stadium that was Rs.100 and
Rs.200 for children and adults respectively has been enhanced to Rs.200
and Rs.400. There has been no enhancement in using facilities at the
Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium.
The VMC General Body
also took a decision to add three storeys to the N.T.R. Complex. It
also took a decision to raise Rs.11 crore through goodwill and Rs.5.82
crore as loan from nationalised banks for construction of the additional
storeys.
It also decided to change the advocate, who
is attending cases of VMC in High Court. The important decisions taken
by the standing committee were enhancing the rent of the canteen in the
VMC office and extension of its lease, exempting Navajeen Bala Bhavan
shelter for street children of municipal taxes and allocating place for
Indian Bank ATM in Kaleswara Rao market.
