Finance dept nod to funds for multi-laned roads
development of Naya Raipur, the Naya Raipur Development Authority will
be constructing 60-km-long roads. To link all the 40 sectors of the
first layer of Naya Raipur, 6, 4 and 2 lane roads would be constructed
in the second phase of road construction.
The finance department has accorded sanction for the construction of
these roads. Now the Naya Raipur Development Authority wanted to
complete construction of these roads after inviting tenders soon.
According to the standards of the ministry of National Highways and
Road Transport (MORTS), NRDA will carry out the construction of these
roads, in which all the measures of quality and security will be
maintained.
In the 60-km road to be constructed with a cost of Rs 258 crore, roads
of 100 metre, 60 metre, 45 metre, 30 metre and 24 metre Right of Way
(ROW) are included. For the completion of these roads, 19 small bridges
and 10 culverts would be constructed.
Chief Executive Officer of NRDA Amit Kataria said that after completion
of these roads, development of Naya Raipur would be progressed further.
Within two years construction of these roads would be completed. For
that tenders would be called soon and Project Management Advisor (PMC)
would also be appointed, so that the quality of construction works could
be monitored, he added.
On completion of these roads, development works of Naya Raipur would be
increased and the villages around the city would be linked with better
roads. With the construction of these roads, the IIM, being construction
in Naya Raipur, Sub Area Headquarters of the Army, Capital Complex to
Sector 18 &25, Housing sector and other sectors would be linked with
internal roads.
Moreover, these roads will also link Kotrabhatta, Cheecha and Reco
village with Naya Raipur. In the first phase total 75-km roads had been
constructed and with the completion of the second phase total 135-km
roads will provide better traffic facility to Naya Raipur.
