Funds sanctioned for road repair
The government has granted administrative clearance for
executing road development works costing Rs.8 crore in the Aranmula
Assembly segment, K.Sivadasan Nair, MLA, has said.
In
a statement here on Monday, he said Rs.57 lakh had been sanctioned for
the repair and development of 11 roads in the Pathanamthitta municipal
limits and Rs.7.03 crore for the repair, maintenance, and development of
the other roads in the constituency.
Mr. Nair said
the road works would be completed before the beginning of the 41-day
Mandalam pilgrim season. A sum of Rs.1.32 crore had been sanctioned for
the repair, including concreting, of the Thiruvalla-Kumbazha road.
He
said the repair of the footbridge attached to the bridge across the
Pampa at Kozhencherry would be carried out in the next few months. A sum
of Rs.25 lakh had been sanctioned for the work.He said Rs.25 lakh had
been sanctioned for the protection walls along the Pathanamthitta-
Kaipattoor road and Rs.15 lakh for providing drainage along the
Pathanamthitta- Thazhoorkadavu road.
