Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur while taking stock of measures adopted by the traffic police to regulate vehicular flow and minimise road accidents called on the two-wheeler riders to compulsorily wear helmets to ensure their own safety.
The Minister while inspecting arrangements with Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) Monika Shukla and Additional Commissioner Bhopal Municipal Corporation Kumar Purshottam at the Retghat area early Monday morning issued instructions to penalise two-wheeler riders, taking to the roads without helmets.
He took the occasion to request two-wheeler riders, passing through the area, to wear helmets.
Gaur said, “By wearing a helmet you are not only ensuring your own safety, but it is also good for your family.”
Expressing concern over a series of grievous accidents on the city roads, Gaur called on the youth to drive with control and within the prescribed speed limits, besides abiding by traffic regulations.
He also discussed measures adopted by the traffic police to control the vehicular flow in the State capital with Addl SP Monika Shukla. He instructed all stake-holding departments to convene a meeting to regulate the traffic in the city.
