Reacting to a news item published in these columns on Monday saying
that GHMC decided to promote some employees despite charges of
corruption, the civic body clarifies that the Standing Committee had not
approved the promotion of 12 Draughtsman Grade-III to the post of Town
Planning Supervisor/Assistant.
Commissioner Somesh Kumar says the
issue was placed before the Standing Committee for a decision but the
meeting, chaired by mayor M Majid Hussain and attended by himself and
others, postponed the decision for want of further information. The
details of disciplinary cases pending against the employees were
brought to the notice of the committee, Kumar says.
