Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has disconnected power
supply to as many as 240 unauthorised cell phone towers within the GHMC
limits.

According to GHMC officials, there are more than 6,000
cell towers under the GHMC which have not taken approval from it and
have been identified as unauthorised by the corporation.

Though
notices were issued against the operators, they have not regularised the
illegal towers. The cell tower companies have been asked  to
immediately upload the tower information to GHMC for further action.
