GHMC commissioner MT Krishna Babu has appealed to the citizens of
GHMC to lodge their complaints regarding dilapidated buildings and
compound walls of their area through GHMC toll free call centre i.e.,
155304 to avoid mishaps during ensuing monsoon season.
The
commissioner held a review meeting on monsoon preparedness with all the
21 line departments. He directed the zonal commissioners to check the
dilapidated buildings listed out last year and whose owners have given
undertaking for strengthening those structures and failed to do so. He
further directed the zonal commissioners to demolish those structures
within a week’s time.
He requested the people of the twin cities
to lodge their grievances pertaining to monsoon related issues such as
inundation, missing manholes, falling of trees etc, to the GHMC call
centre.
He asked the officials to check manhole covers and use fibre reinforce plastic) manhole covers with grills.

Babu also directed the officials to attend to works on 14 major
stagnation points at Villa Mary College, Model House, Mythrivanam, Road
No 1 and 12, Banjara Hills, Road 12 Kaman, Banjara Hills, Yousufguda
Checkpost, Rani Gunj under bridge, Karbala maidan, Fever Hospital, Ganga
Bowli, Lal Bazar Railway Bridge, Alugadda Bavi etc.,
The
disaster management wing should send SMS alerts to the all senior level
officers of APCPDCL, HMWS&SB, police, revenue and fire departments
and wanted all the officials concerned to take the alerts seriously.
