GHMC live show opposedHyderabad, Sept. 5: The “face-to-face” programme of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation that allows citizens to register their complaints about civic problems has been criticised by both the Telugu Desam and MIM. They allege that the programme will only serve to give the Mayor some publicity and allow opponents to use it to settle scores with local corporators.
The TD floor leader, Mr Singireddy Srinivas, said it is better to go directly to the doorsteps of citizens since problems cannot be solved by just asking officials to attend to complaints received on the phone. “The programme is a publicity stunt,” he said.
Deputy Mayor Mr Jaffar Hussain of the MIM said that false complaints could be lodged against corporators by their opponents.
