Hyderabad, May 19: In view of heavy rainfall forecast with thunderstorm in the city in the next 48 hours under the influence of Laila cyclone, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has set up emergency control rooms.

Denizens can call up their nearest control room for help in case of emergencies. These control rooms would function round the clock from 9 am onwards on Thursday.

GHMC additional commissioner, urban community development (UCD), will co-ordinate with all the officers in the GHMC for handling emergencies. The telephone Numbers of UCD are 23222018 and 9704601866.

The GHMC commissioner, Dr Sameer Sharma, convened an emergency meeting with all concerned additional and zonal commissioners.
